DESCRIPTION:Armed Forces Day is a day to honor and recognize the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces. It's a time to express gratitude for their service\, sacrifices\, and dedication to the nation's security. The day also serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the military's role in civilian life and showcase its capabilities. \n\n \n\nLEAD's Armed Forces Day activities will include self-guided tours of the James Finley House\, the former commander's quarters\, and the Historic Letterkenny Chapel and Franklin County Veterans and 9/11 Memorial Park.\n\n \n\nSchedule of events for the day includes:\n\n11 a.m.   Opening Ceremony\n\n11:15 a.m.   2 p.m.   A celebration to include reenactments\, exhibits\, tours of the James Finley House and Historic Letterkenny Chapel and bus tours of the depot.\n\n \n\nThe bus tours of the depot will also be available on a first-come\, first-served basis.\n\n \n\nBus tour times are:\n\n11:15 a.m.   12 p.m.\n\n12:15   1 p.m.\n\n1:15   2 p.m.\n\n \n\nTo pre-register for the bus tours\, email usarmy.letterkenny.usamc.list.public-affairs-office@army.mil or call LEAD's Public Affairs Office at 717-267-5482 and let the representative know of any need for special accommodations.\n\n \n\nNote: Each participant will need to register. Infants or children under 5 years of age can ride on the lap of an adult without registration.\n\n \n\nFood\, beverages\, and merchandise will be available for purchase from various vendors.
