Presented by Buttonwood Nature Center in partnership with Franklin Co. Rock & Mineral Club. Fun and education combine in geologist Jeri Jones's popular annual geology series. Jones will walk you through the neighborhood terranes and examine the rocks and minerals found in the Great Valley, South Mountain and the western section of the Piedmont in Adams, Cumberland and Franklin counties. Highlights include volcanoes, dinosaurs and caves, and range from 600–160 million years ago. Audience questions welcome. The program serves as an orientation for Buttonwood’s geology field trip on Sat., May 16.
