Under general supervision, to perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of a variety of buildings and grounds facilities and structures; and to do related works as required.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Performs the semi-skilled tasks in assisting skilled workers on work projects concerned with cleanings and repairs to tenant/agency units such as; performs general repair and maintenance work on structures, related physical facilities, makes repairs to dwelling units and equipment; assists in making repairs on heating systems and plumbing systems; assists in installing and repairing electrical systems, maintain grounds maintenance. Reports to Mechanic and/or Property Manager.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation of high school/vocational degree and one year experience in general construction and building maintenance work. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and pass drug testing. Testing may be required.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of common methods, materials and equipment used in carpentry, painting, electrical and mechanical trades; ability to use, operate and care for power and hand tools related to the building and mechanical trades; ability to follow oral and written instructions; and ability to work cooperatively with others.
