This position will be approximately 35-37.5 hours per week, seasonal position from late August to early June (during school year) with Healthy Communities Partnership. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in human services field
- Experience in mental health or substance use programs or services
- Experience working with youth (especially at-risk youth)
Liaison/Educator should have knowledge of:
- local child-serving systems
- child and adolescent mental health
- procedures for accessing local resources for students and families
- the school culture and SAP-related school policies and procedures for teams to which they are assigned (training provided)
- student assistance program policies and procedures (training provided)
- crisis intervention
- suicide prevention and intervention
- screening procedures
Liaison/Educator should have skills in:
- working with parents, students and school personnel
- serving as advocates for parents/caregivers and students in the healthcare system
- accessing local resources
- consulting with school and community child-serving professionals
Responsibilities may include:
- attending SAP core team meetings at assigned schools
- meeting with students individually to perform mental health and drug and alcohol screenings
- consulting with teams for interventions and assisting parents in accessing the appropriate services
- providing in-service and program updates
- facilitating or co-facilitating student education and support groups in schools
- providing follow-up with parents and students
- assisting schools in promotion of SAP program to faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members
- drug/alcohol prevention education in schools and community organizations
Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
