Description
Allison-Antrim Museum, 365 South Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, Pennsylvania 17225 will hold a new event Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 2:30 pm in the German Bank. There is no admission fee. The facility is wheelchair accessible.
Join us for an afternoon of 18th and 19th century sewing and needlework, which is open to anyone curious about historical clothing construction methods, sewing tools and techniques, fabric, materials, and patterns. Stop by to learn about basic needlework and historical dress from interpreters and volunteers. If you are a historical sewist, you are invited to bring your project and supplies and join us for a fun afternoon.
Historical costumers get together for camaraderie, to work on sewing projects and share knowledge. Most are making 18th century items, but clothing does not have to be 18th century. New attendees are welcome. Participants bring their own supplies and work on their own individual projects.
Anyone interested in historical, 18th or 19th Century hand sewing or needlework or anyone interested in discovering what it is, is welcome to visit the Barn.
