8th Annual EdK Memorial 1K Fun Run & 5K Race

The Chambersburg Memorial YMCA will host the 8th Annual EdK Memorial 1K Fun Run & 5K Race on Sunday, October 4, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, 570 E. McKinley Street, Chambersburg.
Established by the Sponseller Family in 2018, the annual event honors the memory of Ed Sponseller to support a cause close to his heart, helping cancer survivors reclaim their strength, confidence, and community. Proceeds from the event will support LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a free 12-week program that helps cancer survivors regain strength, improve their health, and enhance their quality of life through physical activity and supportive programming.

The race welcomes participants of ALL ages and fitness levels and offers both a 1K Fun Run and a 5K walk/run.

Participants who register for the 5K by September 14, 2026 will receive a race T-shirt.

• Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026

• Check-In: 12:30 PM

• 1K Fun Run: 2:00 PM

• 5K Walk/Run: Immediately following the 1K

• Location: Chambersburg Memorial YMCA, 570 E. McKinley St., Chambersburg, PA 17201

• Entry Fee: $10 for the 1K Fun Run | $30 for the 5K Race

This year's event is also dog-friendly (Dogs must remain leashed at all times.)
