February Speaker Meeting
Allison-Antrim Museum will hold its monthly speaker meeting on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 7 pm, in the Barn at 365 S Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, PA 17225. In recognition of African American History Month, a PowerPoint “The Anderson Family, the Underground Railroad, & Antrim Township” will be presented by Bonnie Shockey, President & CEO of Allison-Antrim Museum.
Timothy Anderson Sr. was born a free black. His father Robert Anderson was white, Scot Irish, and Presbyterian having been born in Northern Ireland in 1760. His mother was African. She was born somewhere along the Ivory Coast of West Africa.
Timothy Sr.’ home in Antrim township was a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was illegal to harbor fugitives who escaped from slavery. If caught the conductors could be jailed and heavily fined. So, how do we know Timothy Anderson Sr was a conductor on the Underground Railroad? The well-kept family secrets will be revealed during the PowerPoint.
There is no fee to attend, but donations are greatly accepted toward Allison-Antrim Museum's annual speaker series. For more information, visit the website at www.greencastlemuseum.org, or follow us on Facebook at Greencastlemuseum.
If inclement weather is a problem, notice of cancellation will be announced on the Museum’s Web site and on Facebook.
