On Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 7 pm, Allison-Antrim Museum, 365 S Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, PA 17225 will hold its first 2023 quarterly membership meeting and speaker meeting.
Justin Mayhue will speak on the long history of fire service in the Hagerstown, MD area. The lecture will highlight firefighting techniques and equipment, including the firefighters who made personal sacrifices to ensure the safety of citizens since 1791, in and around Hagerstown.
Mayhue is an instructor with the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute in Hagerstown, MD. He has served as an active firefighter for over 45 years with the Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Company. Mayhue has held all fire-officer positions, including the rank of fire chief. His resume also includes retired Battalion Chief with the Hagerstown Fire Department, and 911 operator in Washington County, MD. Mayhue currently serves as the curator of the First Hagerstown Museum of Firefighting History.
