SHIPPENSBURG – The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will hold their 25th annual Dog Walk and Contests from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds.
The event will be held rain or shine and registration begins at 10 a.m., with the walk starting at 11.
Participants are asked to raise money by getting sponsors for the dog walk. All walkers will receive a participation bag. People who raise $25 will get a t-shirt and anyone who raises $75 or more will get a walk down the prize table.
Sponsor forms may be downloaded at cvas-pets.org. All monies collected will be due on the day of the walk.
Online donations are also accepted on the website and Facebook fundraisers are welcome.
The canine contests will begin after the dog walk. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: best trick, best costume, best kisser and most obedient.
The event will also include, vendors, food, a prize wheel and other games.
