Description
CHAMBERSBURG -- The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will hold "Howl to Heal," a dog walk in memory of John Hepfer, Jr., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West. Participants are asked to get sponsors to raise money for the shelter's Second Chance Fund for animals who need special attention or vet care. Hepfer was an employee and volunteer at the shelter who passed away suddenly a few years ago. The event will be a relay-style walk around the shelter. Participants do not need a dog to take part in the walk. Participants will also be able to take part in the Tribute Track, to honor or memorialize animals or people who meant something special to participants. Tribute Track signs are $5 each and will make the walk both poignant and special to those who take part in the event. The event will also include food and entertainment. To print out forms and flyers, log onto www.cvas-pets.org and follow the links. For more information, contact CVAS at (717) 263-5791. ###
