Description
Radical Self & Community Care Virtual Series
In these unprecedented times, as you take care of students, mediate with parents, support
teachers, and carry out the decisions of school boards and administrators, it’s particularly
important to take especially good care of yourself. As professionals in the educational setting, you
are often family caregivers as well, and the school bell does not likely end your caregiving day.
Your health risks for burnout and other illnesses are high, so how about joining other school
caregivers in virtual sessions around the theme of self-care?
Join authors and dancing social workers Sheila K Collins, PhD, and Christine Gautreaux, MSW as
they share wisdom and the five skills of selfcare from their book Stillpoint: A Playbook for
Caregivers to Find Ease, Time to Breathe and Reclaim Joy. The duo use art-based tools from the
system of InterPlay - an active, improvisational, creative approach to unlocking the wisdom of the
body. A social movement, InterPlay is dedicated to enabling ease and balance in human
relationships across cultures and between people of different generations and backgrounds.
