Chambersburg Community Theatre presents THE WIZARD OF OZ. Based on the 1939 MGM classic musical of L. Frank Baum’s story, the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) version of The Wizard of Oz includes the familiar characters & songs that audiences world-wide have come to know and love. Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her and her little dog Toto away to another world. She then embarks on a journey with her new-found friends, Scarecrow, Tinman and Cowardly Lion to the Emerald City where the Wonderful Wizard of Oz is sure to help her find her way back home. Along the way she encounters both good & bad witches, Munchkins and Winkies, and learns that no matter where her dreams take her, there’s no place like home.
