Account Manager - Roof Maintenance Department

Summary Job Description

The responsibility of the Account Manager is to oversee incoming/outgoing estimates, generate new sales, bids and client relationships as well as provide and maintain overall direction of each project in a proactive and professional manner. Coordinate and properly communicate internally with Service Manager, Operations Supervisor, Service Coordinators, field employees, accounting personnel and management to ensure all aspects of the project are being met. Coordinate and properly communicate externally with customers, consultants, architects, and general contractors to assure all expectations are being met and to uphold our value of being the Choice.

 

Essential Functions:

· Develop accurate, complete, professional, timely and profitable bid proposals.

· Generate new sales and clients through the use of inside and outside sales techniques. This includes making “cold calls” and maintaining relationships with current customers (including face-to-face meetings).

· Assist Sr. Roof Inspector in performing roof inspections/site bids.

· Identify cross-selling opportunities with existing customers and hand off leads to other Divisions within the Houck Group.

· Examine blueprints of prospective client requirements to determine cost.

· Receive client phone calls and email inquiries and respond to client requests for project updates and supplemental work to existing projects.

· Review and become familiar with all job specific information.

· Coordinate all necessary paperwork internally & externally.

· Assist in preparing submittals and shop drawings.

· Coordinate turnover meetings with Operations Supervisor as required for all necessary projects.

· Attend pre-construction and weekly jobsite meetings, as needed.

· Checks in daily with the Sr. Account Manager and maintains an updated schedule in Outlook.

· Assist Service Manager/Operations Managers in managing job costs.

· Coordinate all job billings directly with the Accounting Department, as needed and by contract requirements.

· Assist in the collections process when required.

· Resolve technical or contractual issues.

· Prepare and submit RFI’s.

· Prepare change order estimates.

· Assure the customer’s expectations are being met.

· Assist in post-job reviews as required.

· Attend and participate in bi-weekly Department & Operations meetings.

· Pursue on-going professional development training.

· Be flexible and keep an open mind to change.

Required Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Minimum of 5 years’ sales and/or estimating experience.

3. Valid Drivers’ License

 

Travel

Ability and flexibility for occasional travel is expected for this position.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as on site at construction locations. The use of computers, printers, cell phones, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines is required. Other functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard outdoor work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Often work must be performed in high and/or cramped workspaces and awkward positions. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials and equipment.

 

Physical Demands

· Coordinate movements of two or more limbs together while sitting, standing, or lying down.

· Ability to climb, lift and set up an 80lb. ladder and pull a 40lb. ladder to higher levels.

· Climb and/or balance yourself.

· Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required.

· Work outdoors.

· Sit or stand for significant periods of time (4-8 hours).

· Typing on and looking at a computer.

· Talking on the phone/cellphone.

· Ability to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time and throughout the workday.
