About the Role
Shalom Christian Academy is seeking a collaborative and mission-driven Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our internal and external communication strategies across print, web, and social media platforms. In this role, you will champion the school's brand, articulate our Christian philosophy of education, and foster engagement with prospective families, current students, staff, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Management & Strategy: Develop and maintain the school’s annual communications calendar, creative style guide, logos, and messaging standards to ensure a cohesive, positive brand image.
- Digital & Print Media: Manage content for the school website, social media, and internal portals. Conceive, write, edit, and produce print publications (including The Scroll newsletter, event materials, and advertising copy.) Social media ad management required.
- Website Management: Serve as website administrator for 4 websites including troubleshooting and portal maintenance.
- School Events & PR: Attend key school functions to capture photography, gather news content, and coordinate social media coverage. Assist administration with strategic communications and crisis response as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with Admissions, Development, Academic Leadership, and classroom teachers to promote enrollment, fundraising events, and day-to-day student life.
- Department Oversight: Maintain the school’s digital image archive, manage department assistant and freelance contributors, and stay up to date on best practices in independent school marketing.
Required Personal Qualities & Qualifications
- Spiritual Commitment: A clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ, active membership in good standing at a local church, and strong alignment with Shalom Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
- Professional Expertise: Proven background in marketing, communications, content creation, or public relations.
- Technical Skills: Experience managing social media platforms, websites, image archives, and print/digital layout workflows.
- Relational & Confidential: Strong interpersonal skills, respect for parental authority in education, and absolute discretion regarding confidential information.
