The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Marketing & Communications Specialist to support the Chamber’s marketing initiatives and communications efforts. This role is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys storytelling through visual content, digital media, and strategic communications.


The Marketing & Communications Specialist will help promote Chamber programs, events, and member businesses through engaging marketing campaigns, strong visual content, and consistent messaging across platforms. This individual will play a key role in creating photo-driven and video content, including reels and short-form social media, to highlight the Chamber’s work and the vibrancy of the local business community.


The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, manage projects from concept to completion, and maintain a strategic communications schedule to ensure consistent outreach throughout the year.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement marketing and communications strategies that promote Chamber programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Manage, coordinate, and execute assigned key Chamber events, ensuring smooth operations and a positive experience for attendees.
  • Develop visually engaging, photo-forward and video-based content, including reels and short-form videos, for social media and digital platforms.
  • Capture and curate photos and video content at Chamber events and within the local business community.
  • Manage marketing projects from start to finish, including planning, content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking.
  • Maintain and execute a year-round communications calendar to ensure consistent messaging across newsletters, social media, website updates, and marketing campaigns.
  • Write and edit marketing copy for email campaigns, press releases, newsletters, and digital platforms.
  • Assist with the design and production of marketing materials, graphics, and promotional content.
  • Support event promotion and marketing initiatives for Chamber programs and member engagement.
  • Assist the Membership Director with marketing and communications efforts to support member retention and educate new members about the value and benefits of membership.
  • Monitor engagement and analytics across marketing channels and recommend improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong creativity and visual storytelling ability, especially through photography, short-form video, and digital media.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to organize, plan, implement, and prioritize workload while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Canva, or other graphic design programs is a plus.
  • Experience with Facebook video editing, Adobe Premiere, or other video editing software is a plus.
Additional Information
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with occasional weekend and evening hours. Any additional hours worked will be offset by adjustment to your regular schedule.
  • After the initial training period (approximately 120 days), there is potential for the role to transition to a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $50,000 – $60,000 annually
Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
